OUR MISSION

The mission of this course is to educate the junior plastic surgeons, the new residents and general practitioners what is meant by Plastic surgery. We aim to teach them the way of proper wound suturing, using different types of suturing techniques and avoiding complications of improper suturing through this hands-on course. Simulators will be provided to the candidates to practice different types of suturing techniques. We aim to teach them how to deal with a victim of burns who is arriving to the Emergency Department and what are the first aid maneuvers to be done for him through simulators. The basic principles of tendons repair either flexors or extensors will be shown and the candidates are going to practice the repair on models. An idea about the different aspects of Plastic surgery and its subspecialities will be demonstrated through power point presentations like gynaecomastia management, cosmetic surgery and microvascular surgery with proper history taking and video assisted demonstrations. By the end of the hands- on course we expect the candidates to have a good practice on a wide spectrum of Plastic Surgery subspecialities and be able to manage different types of wounds, burn cases, tendons injuries and other situations.
